Electric Mobility through Interoperable and Secure Architectures
The ELISA project, part of the NovoMotive project family, aims to develop a secure vehicle architecture using a Zero-Trust approach, with a Trusted Platform Module 2.0 (TPM) based on standard ISO/IEC 11889 managing the digital key material for secure backend communication. The secure TPM key management serves as the foundation for trustworthy applications, particularly electric vehicle charging according to IEC/ISO 15118-20 and car access/car sharing, which are the two main use cases to be implemented as concrete solutions. To ensure flexibility across different vehicle variants and security levels, various TPM types (Discrete, Integrated, Firmware, Hypervisor, and Software) are considered, along with a secure boot process to guarantee the authenticity and integrity of the hardware components.
