ProSeCA
Celebrating the Successful Completion of the ProSeCA Project
the holistic approach of an automotive ECU SecurityChain for automated and connected vehicles.
The ProSeCA project successfully concluded with its final assembly hosted by Fraunhofer SIT, providing an excellent opportunity to present and celebrate the project's achievements. As part of the NovoMotive project family, ProSeCA was coordinated by Infineon Technologies AG and focused on developing an overarching cybersecurity architecture for next-generation automotive electronic control units (ECUs).
Over the course of the project, partners from industry and research collaborated to build a comprehensive security chain spanning all layers of modern vehicle architectures. The resulting solution combines trusted hardware technologies, TPM-based security services, hypervisor-supported isolation, secure communication mechanisms, and a Rust-based software ecosystem into a unified cybersecurity architecture.
A major achievement of the project was the successful integration of these technologies into a fully functional demonstrator platform. During the final validation activities, key security mechanisms such as Secure Boot, TPM-based cryptography, hardware-accelerated security functions, secure communications, and application execution within a protected runtime environment were demonstrated and validated.
The final assembly highlighted the outstanding contributions of all project partners, from the initial specification and security analysis to implementation, integration, and successful system demonstration. ProSeCA demonstrates how future vehicle platforms can benefit from the combination of Trusted Computing technologies, modern software architectures, and security-by-design principles to achieve significantly higher levels of resilience against cyberattacks.
The closing event also provided an opportunity to reflect on the strong collaboration between all consortium members and to discuss future opportunities for applying the developed technologies in next-generation automotive platforms.
